DAILY prayer of commitment and re-commitment – an idea:
Father, I am Thy beloved child. I love Thee.
I want to be more at ease with myself, and with Thee.
My body is a Temple. I want to feel about it as I do about the Temple I visit.
I want to constantly maintain and care for my body and spirit in the way
the Temple is constantly physically and spiritually maintained and cared for.
I am not my own. I was created by Thy design. I was bought by Thy Son for a dear, dear price.
And yet… Thou hast given ME stewardship over this body of Thine/Mine!
I stand all amazed at the trust and love Thou and Thy Son Jesus offer me…
I give over my burdens, my depression, my self-indulgence, my over-caring for the things of this world (food included) to Thee. Create in me a clean HEART. Renew a right SPIRIT within me.
I want to be among those who truly, deeply trust in Thy Son, my LORD - JESUS CHRIST.
I pray for the renewal of my hope, strength and commitment every day. I commit to doing my part so that I can be blessed as Thou hast detailed: “they… shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
I commend myself to my care and to Thee for today – in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
